Nick and Michelle’s Allotment Interest
Nicholas Macartney’s Home Garden in 2015
Welcome to his garden, here in Banbury, Oxfordshire. The garden is South facing designed himself over a period of 6 years, whilst doing other people’s gardens. The garden is on 3 distinctive levels with 2 feature lawns, large patio area, raised vegetable beds, a greenhouse, a pond, large sweeping borders, and a collection of trees to provide privacy at the rear. Nick works on the garden principle that every plant has to earn its place in the garden. Space is a premium so as with all gardens, one needs to experiment with which plants will perform best and give the most value seasonal color. Nick garden’s organically where possible and always looks to implement further changes through the seasons. Nicholas and his wife Michelle also look after 3 allotments locally so time spent there growing produce for the house and flowers for decoration takes further demands on his time.
